Tollef Svennungsen Journal

Tollef Svennungsen is a Norwegian-American immigrant. Born in Eidsborg, Telemark region of Norway. He began his journey from Norway to settle in the Americas in 1865. From the Vindlaus farm in Norway to the rolling hills of Decorah, from homesteading in the Dakota region to working maintenance at a Scandinavian-American hospital in Stoughton, Wisconsin, the journal reflects Tollef's daily struggles to make an honest living in the Americas.
